According to Merc&#8217;s performance division, it &#8220;draws directly on the legendary SLS and AMG GT models&#8221; and &#8220;is the first four-door sports car&#8221; from AMG. <\/p>\n<p>Regardless of how it is described, it&#8217;s hard to deny the obvious: despite the unusual name, the new Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe is a very exciting car. It&#8217;s one of Mercedes&#8216; most important premieres of the year, and it currently dominates the AMG family in terms of power. <\/p>\n<p>The official 0-62mph (0-100km\/h) sprint takes just 3.2 seconds, or 0.2 seconds slower than the Ferrari 488 GTB. Top speed stands at 195mph (315km\/h) in the &#8216;S&#8217; model, which has 630hp (639PS) and 663lb-ft (900Nm) of torque.<\/p>\n<p>Even the non-S version is more powerful than the Mercedes-AMG GT R, making 576hp (585PS) and 590lb-ft (800Nm) of torque from the same twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8.<\/p>\n<p>Unveiled at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show earlier this week, the new GT 4-Door Coupe is being celebrated by the manufacturer in the three videos that you can watch right after the break.<\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>But that&#8217;s not how Affalterbach sees it.
