Haval introduced its H2 to South Africa in 2017 and it very quickly became one of the top-selling models within the range. This was, in part, thanks to a step-up in perceived build quality, as well as a more contemporary and unpolarising design.<\/p>\n

Coupled with very competitive pricing for the quality of product, it was clear Haval had a winning combination.<\/p>\n

Continues to be snapped up<\/strong><\/p>\n

Since then, Haval H2s have been snapped up at a very respectable rate. The company quotes that more than 7 200 H2s have been purchased since launch. <\/p>\n

That said, there is now a new, facelifted Haval H2. From the outset, the pricing model remains as attractive as before. The base variant, the Haval H2 City starts at R269 900, leading up to the flagship H2 Luxury Auto priced at R329 900.<\/p>\n

By our calculations, prices have increased by R5 000 across the board. <\/p>\n

Haval H2: So what\u2019s been refreshed? <\/strong><\/p>\n

As is the case with model updates, the new bits are mainly cosmetic. <\/p>\n

There is a new front grille, revised headlight shapes, fog lights and slicker LED DRLs. The car sports new 18-inch alloy wheels and a tweaked rear bumper design too. <\/p>\n

The 1.5-litre engine has not received any special treatment and that\u2019s a pity given that it is perhaps the single biggest criticism of the car. It remains as it was developing 105kW of power and 202Nm of torque through the option of a manual or auto 6-speed transmission. <\/p>\n

Interior updates are perhaps more exciting and relevant. These include Apple CarPlay that is offered as a standard feature across the range. Also a standard feature is a sunroof for City <\/em>models or a larger panoramic sunroof on the more premium Luxury models. <\/p>\n

This has been part of Haval\u2019s success \u2013 the ability to offer up a large selection of standard features and equipment at very competitive prices.<\/p>\n

Continues to ruffle feathers<\/strong><\/p>\n

In addition to the above, the Haval retains technologies like ABS, EBD, Multi-Function steering wheel, heated seats, tyre pressure monitoring, as well as rear view camera as part of the park distance control function. <\/p>\n

Haval continues to ruffle feathers and claw away at some valuable market share, particularly in this ever so competitive segment. <\/p>\n
