Set to be presented at the General Police Equipment Exhibition & Conference (GPEC) that takes place between February 20 and 22 in Frankfurt, Germany, they are ready to assume their roles as police cruisers in their homeland – and probably elsewhere.<\/p>\n
Daimler’s portfolio includes vehicles such as the new X-Class. The pickup truck, based on the same platform as the Nissan Navara, features a wide track, spring\/damper tuning, coil springs and ventilated disc brakes at both ends.<\/p>\n
The typical German police livery, in addition to other upgrades, was applied to the Sprinter as well, which is described as “a team vehicle”, and to the Vito Tourer that’s referred as “a radio patrol car”. Both of them are equipped with a 7-speed automatic transmission.<\/p>\n
Besides the special police uniform, the latest E-Class Estate, which will be on display, too, features a new diesel engine and is joined by the GLC 350e 4Matic, a PHEV version of the premium compact SUV.<\/p>\n
The Smart brand will be present at GPEC, too, with the fourth-generation Electric Drive (ED). The lineup consists of zero-emission versions of the ForTwo, ForTwo Cabrio and ForFour, which have a claimed range of 160km (99miles) between charges.<\/p>\n
Last, but definitely not least, the Arocs 325 1 L 8×4 heavy-duty truck will be shown in the outdoor grounds at the event. The versatile vehicle is said to be “suitable for a wide range of police duties”, including “logistical assignments and erection of protective barriers, removal of obstacles, launching heavy boats and high-altitude rescue”.<\/p>\n
